报告摘要:

The most important epoch in galaxy evolution was at z=2~3 where both star formation rate density and AGN activities were in their peak stage. The star formation happened in most massive galaxies with very intensive burst known as Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs). Current galaxy formation theories fail to predict numbers of ULIRGs at this redshifts and also have a hard time to propose a mechanism to quench this burst. In this talk I will discuss the ULIRG population at z~2 and their descendent counterparts, massive red galaxies at z~1. We try to establish their evolution connection using the large samples in wide field, yet deep, surveys in both optical and IR bands.
